Electronic Imaging (EIL), some History
Markit Graphic Ltd was founded in 1991 by a group who were friends from their University days. Milne Jellie, Phil Heaphy, John Marshall and Graeme Dick. They purchased a business called Foster Nameplates, and Operated as Markit Graphics Ltd.
The business was operated at Gasson st by Milne Jellie, until 2005, when it moved to the present location in Treffers rd, where it remains today.
Sam Davies took over from Milne in 2005, until 2009, when Lloyd Mearns was appointed Manger.
In 2011 Lloyd and Glen Mearns, and Graeme Bryant took the opportunity to purchase the business, and merge it with Permark Industries Ltd based in Auckland.
EIL now operates as a division of Permark Industries Ltd, owned by David Jack.
Permark and EIL have a proud history of helping industry worldwide design their products to perform in all kinds of difficult environments, meeting both current needs and anticipating future trends.
As well as our loyal customers and hand-picked suppliers, we also owe our ongoing growth and success to our fantastic employees – who include some of the most dedicated and highly skilled printers and operators in New Zealand. We take immense pride in developing our people and passing on highly developed skills to the next generation. We know that means our business stays robust, and we’re creating strong and sustainable career opportunities for our employees.
Since the EIL/Permark merger, we’ve continued to make substantial investments in digital equipment and we have so much more planned.
We now employ 75 staff, have manufacturing Plants in Auckland and Christchurch, and sales offices in Melbourne, Sydney and Brisbane.
On David Jacks retirement in 2013, Lloyd Mearns assumed the role of Managing Director, and remains in the role today.
Both EIL, and Permark continue their outstanding success at Pride in Print Awards, demonstrating that we are recognised as excellent in our field, not only by our customers, but also our peers.
Our business continues to grow and thrive due to our dedicated, and long serving staff, and continually evolving and delivering quality products to our 1500 plus customer base.
